I'm playing through the game (right now Chapter 5-1), and got to say I'm enjoying it pretty well. Granted, it's essentially a face lifted version of 4 and has some controversy around the setting (Africa, etc), but I liked 4 a lot so I'm not complaining about more of the same in that regard. On normal, the difficulty is just enough for me to not be frustrated but not be bored either. The AI for your partner is very well designed and definitely the best I've seen - quite possibly the best AI for a partner in a game so far.
The controls took some getting used to (having not played four in several years), and the story choices in what I'm assuming is the middle of the game made me a little uncomfortable, but it could've been handled far worse too...
